Once upon a time there was a boy named Pete who slept quietly in a coma. When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a nightmare.

Stretch Goal Reached: Adventure Plus!
over 8 years ago – Mon, Feb 26, 2018 at 10:10:44 AM

Wow!

You did it! You hit the Adventure Plus Stretch Goal! Thank you so much for your support, and Tweeting to me all of your ideas for childhood memories. It was so cool to see you guys light up Twitter with your amazing ideas - they will certainly help with ensuring the game has that special nostalgic feeling I'm hoping for!

Shoutout: Support "In Other Waters" Campaign!

I'm a huge fan of rallying around other game developers, and ensuring their unique vision is supported. That's why I had to tell you guys about a friend of mine's campaign - it's one of those campaigns you really don't want to miss out on. His name is Gareth, and I love his work, and I'm amazed at how creative it is. I'll be sure to support it myself! Guide a stranded xenobiologist as they explore and study the secrets of an alien ocean. Go check it out!

Development Update

Erik and I are hard at work on the enemy designs. Our current demo only has spiders, but we're now working on some flying "Jellies". Thanks to Erik's dedication to tight yet challenging enemy functionality, things are feeling amazing, and I can't wait to show you more!

Thanks everyone! Sorry if this update is a bit short! Got a long day ahead of me!

Warmly,

Thomas

FIXED LINK: Let's Write A Song Together Today (Everyone Picks A Note)!
over 8 years ago – Mon, Feb 26, 2018 at 10:09:30 AM

This is super fun! It's called Social Composing. By the end of it, we'll all have written a song together, all by simply naming this stompy dude on Imgur!

I can't wait to hear how this thing sounds!

Is it going to sound terrible? Probly.

Is it going to be our Kickstarter Anthem? You bet.

Warmly,

Thomas

I need ideas! What video game best represents your childhood?
over 8 years ago – Mon, Feb 26, 2018 at 09:37:58 AM

Coma is all about childhood, and draws a ton of inspiration from Wind Waker, the game that pretty much sums up my childhood best. So, what game is it for you? You can only choose one! Click below to Tweet at me!

Funding Update

Hey guys! Wow, we're already at $45,000. That's just $15,000 from the Switch goal. I have a feeling we're gonna hit it, but I'm gonna keep pushing! Thank you so much for your incredible support! As soon as we hit the Switch goal, I've got some incredible new Stretch Goals I can't wait to share! So what can you do to get us there? Keep sharing your ideas with me on Twitter! Not only do I hear your ideas, but Coma is being shared as well on social media!

Dinorun Shoutout

Show of hands, how many of you remember Dino Run? Ah... the memories. Me and my buddies in middle school used to play this game in the library before home room started. It was a Flash game, and like Coma, it's getting a major reboot and sequel! I cannot tell you how excited I am for this. The campaign has a little over a day left! Go support indie games!

Making Of #2: How I Animate 2D Characters (Video) + Music Video!
over 8 years ago – Mon, Feb 26, 2018 at 09:37:02 AM

Good Afternoon Folks!

Sorry it's a bit late in the day for an update! I'm on daddy duty today, so I only have one arm! So far, things are looking amazing with funding! We got front paged by Kickstarter (woo hoo!) and had ShadyPenguinn do an awesome Twitch stream, so I really couldn't be happier with the campaign! You guys blew Twitter up yesterday too with your ideas! Thank you!

Coma Music Video (by French band White Note)

First, I thought I'd share an amazing piece of music written by a French band called White Note. They found inspiration in Coma, and wrote a song about it with a similar melody to the Reddington Theme! Feel free to check out the full song here

How To Animate 2D Characters

I know many of you aspire to make games or animations, so I want to show you a quick tutorial on how to do that! Today's stand-in is Pete and a creepy tree!

Thanks everyone! That's all I've got for today!

We've still got 23 days to go! Let's hit the stretch goals! Help by sharing, joining the Thunderclap, and telling your friends :)

Front Page On Reddit? Check!
over 8 years ago – Mon, Feb 26, 2018 at 09:35:30 AM

Folks, you did it. Seriously, it was all you. Yesterday you flooded Reddit with some amazing "Ask Me Anything" questions, and we made it to the front page! I'm a bit overwhelmed (and kind of tired answering so many questions late last night haha), so thank you! If you have any more questions, feel free to join the convo!

Switch, Here We Come!

We're so close! Would you be willing to do a simple retweet? You've already done plenty, I know. But figured I'd ask :)

FAQ: Regarding Switch Keys

As you know, the rewards for this campaign include a Steam/GOG key. But being able to choose a Switch key instead could be cool, I absolutely agree! I'm looking into the possibility, but, unfortunately, all I can say is it's unlikely. It's hard to fully know how many Switch keys I can secure if we hit our goal. Console is a bit different than Steam/GOG. Steam allows me to download thousands of keys to share with you all, while Switch may be a bit more strict. I'll keep you posted, and thank you for understanding!

Can't wait to share the game with you on Steam/GOG!

Warmly,

Thomas
