Hey everyone! Whew! It's been a wild couple months! Sorry I've been so late in getting you an update!
Once Upon A Coma is feature complete! Meaning, everything is in place, the game is fully playable (except for a few minor things to tie together), the levels are done, the art is done, the music is done ( I do have a final boss song to write), and we'll be getting an alpha build out shortly to you all! After that, it will be a beta build, and then launch!
I can't thank everyone enough for supporting my little indie game! You all are so amazing, and this project would not have happened without you.
Here's what we have left to do before this launches:
Alpha testing (that's some of you in a couple weeks!)
Beta testing (that's some of you after beta testing!)
Internal QA final testing!
Nintendo lot check, Steam integration finalization!
Marketing material production
Launch
Rewards Distribution!
Bonus Kickstarter DLC Content Update! This includes bonus content purchased as rewards. Woo!
I can't thank all of you enough for sticking with me, being patient, and showing such amazing support. This project has been incredible to work on, and I'm really proud of it.
All the best!

February Update!

– Fri, Feb 01, 2019 at 12:56:01 AM
I'm having such a blast finishing up Once Upon A Coma. Figured I'd just share what I've been working on in a quick vlog! Regarding rewards, just like when I made Pinstripe, rewards will be coming after we complete the game! This final 10% of polish and clean-up of the game takes some time, so I super duper appreciate everyone's patience! If you want to see daily live streams of its creation, come join me on YouTube! Alpha and beta testing coming, I promise! Estimated launch? Somewhere around March or April! I'll keep you posted!
Thanks everyone! Have an incredible weekend!

December Update!

Wow, what an incredible year! Thanks to you, I've been working full-time on Once Upon A Coma since February! There's a ton that's been done, so let's jump right in:
90% Complete
Erik and I are about 90% complete with the game. We are currently in the polishing phase, which means alpha testing and beta testing is right around the corner! Polishing includes:
Finishing enemy designs and variations
Finishing music for bosses
Finishing the final level design
Adding scenery to drive the story home
Animating 5 cutscenes
Removing content that doesn't work!
Build and promote alpha and beta testing programs!
Marketing strategy and execution
Let's get into a little bit of detail for each of these!
Cut-Scenes
I'll begin animating cut-scenes in February next year. I'm super excited about them because they are really going to help make the game feel alive. The story is currently just vaguely present in the game, so animating Pete's bizarre story is certainly going to help. Cutscenes include some creepy animations of the villain Dr. Smile and some sweet and emotional vignettes of Pete and his best friend Wren.
Hanging out in the evening.
Enemy Redesigns
Interestingly, Erik and I really only have three enemy types, but because of the robust nature of Erik's enemy classes, I can create deviations by simply deselecting certain traits! That means we'll likely have around 6 enemy types. Last week I finished the beetle, spider, and bumblebee. We have yet to finish the insane zombie-adults, but will likely finish those before January 15th!
Alpha & Beta Access
Erik and I are hard at work getting a fully playable build ready for alpha testing! The most difficult part of this is finishing up the final boss, Dr. Smile! I'll be sure to let those of you who purchased access the moment the alpha is ready!
Launch
The launch is still up in the air, but we're aiming for Q1 of 2019! I can say with confidence I'm feeling very good about our progress, and also the quality of the game.
Rewards
I'll begin putting together and distributing your rewards once Once Upon A Coma is completed! I'll keep you posted!
Thank You!
As you know, making indie games is an interesting job, mainly because of the many hats I have to wear! From artwork to business admin and marketing, it's interesting to see how well I can juggle it all. I hope you feel I'm respecting your support, and find these updates helpful and also exciting!
